In My Back Yard (Covid-19 Emergency Response) uses weekly ordering cycles which means that our online shop will be open for orders between Saturday 10am – Wednesday 10pm. Our producers and growers will then prepare the produce and pack ready for delivery to our collection points on Friday afternoon. This weekly ordering system means that production, packing and distribution activities are more efficient and reduce associated overheads.

Step one:
Visit our online shop – TOP TIP! Use the categories in the top right of the shopfront to make shopping easier, selecting which category you wish to shop first (eg. bread or vegetables), unhighlighting and then moving to another.

Step two:
Place your order and checkout or order over the phone (see Phone Buddy Scheme, below), when ordering online you will be asked to choose your preferred Friday afternoon collection point:

Branscombe – Bulstone Springs Farm, Bulstone EX12 3BL: 2pm until 8pm
Beer –
Charlie’s Yard, Slipway: 3pm until 5.30pm (joining other stalls and acitivities)
Lyme Regis –
Residential address; The Haven, 15 Woodmead Road, DT7 3AD: 3.30pm – 6pm Fridays
Ottery St Mary
 – Fillfull, Mill Street EX11 1AD: Fridays: 2pm until 4.00pm and Saturdays: 10am until 4pm
– Natural Worx, Queen Street, EX12 2PA: 2pm until 4.30pm
Sidmouth – back of Vinnicombes Bakery, (between the YMCA and the dentist on Mill Street), EX10 8DF 2pm until 4.30pm

! Please observe the physical distancing measures which are already in operation at these locations and are working well. Contact us if you have any concerns

Step three:
Bring some reusable shopping bags and collect your delicious fresh produce on Friday afternoons from your chosen location. Your produce will be in an orange crate with your name on it (the crate stays with IMBY) a volunteer will help with your order and any products in chill boxes – except at Branscombe where all orders are clearly marked and collection is self-service – be sure to remember to collect any meat, fish or dairy items from the labelled cool box (there will be a reminder slip in your crate).

Although some Covid restrictions are beginning to lift we recognise that a lock-down is still in place and continue to operate in a way which takes the safety of our producers and customers seriously.

Price Transparency
Food co-operative hubs like ours all around the world use something called an ‘Enterprise fee’ to cover costs incurred with getting fresh local produce to customers. Our Enterprise fee was 5% at the start of lockdown to help access to food. This fee increases from 1 Aug 2020 on different categories – so some producers will be lowering their costs to absorb this, other items may be a few pence more expensive – the Enterprise Fee helps towards paying for fuel, packing, packaging and managing sales, promotion (which as of July 30th have all been offered voluntarily). Click on the pie charts in our online shop to see exactly where your money is going.

Covid-19 precautions
While Covid-19 is being brought under control we are serious about reducing all risks of infection. On top of our normal hygiene protocol we are also taking extra care to sanitise, social distance, and wear masks and gloves.
